Friend to Friend

Volunteers needed to help with upkeep of shelter grounds (mowing, yard cleaning, pruning, weed pulling, raking); upkeep of shelter and office (painting, cleaning, etc.); sorting donations (esp. clothes); helping clients fill out restraining orders; talking to clients during group sessions (topics such as self esteem, parenting, money management etc.); office assistance (answering phones, filing, etc.)

Linden Lodge

Volunteers needed to assist with upkeep of lodge property. Art teacher needed to assist residents in art therapy and using their creativity. Yoga instructor needed to assist residents that gain large amounts of weight due to the use of psychotropic medications.

Sandhills Community Action Program

Volunteers needed for the roles of receptionist and resident manager. Receptionists answer incoming calls, field questions and take messages. Resident Managers oversee the operations of transitional facilities, ensure appointments are met, activities are attended, curfew is met and chores are completed. Resident Managers may provide services in the absence of the Case Manager, in the evening and/or on weekends.

Sandhills/Moore Coalition for Human Care

Volunteers needed for the roles of greeter (checks clients in at front desk), screener (speaks with clients about their emergency, works with Operations Manager to decide how the Coalition may help), food packer, operations manager, job counselor, clothing sorters and assistants, office assistant (answers phone, other office work), driver (takes clients to appointments, picks up food for the Coalition, other tasks), and resale shop clerk (for one of four resale shops.)
